How We Work
FETCO's modus operandi is to work in a cooperative manner with any appropriate government department as well as employers and associations of employers whose consultation is required with respect to legislation, regulations, or related matters. In fulfilling its mandate FETCO engages in various activities, such as:
- Exchanging information in areas of mutual interest among its members
- Preparation and presentation of briefs to various government bodies
- Consultation with government in matters falling under its mandate
- Participation in "consensus-generating" efforts with other relevant parties
- Maintaining contacts within government and at the political level
- Meeting with cabinet ministers where warranted
- Commissioning research and engaging consultants when deemed necessary in pursuing the interests of its members
- Participating in seminars or conferences of interest to its members
- Developing communications programs to disseminate its views
